Eraser is a tool for erasing pencil marks. Another Eraser is a brown eraser commonly used by artists, made of soft and rough rubber. It's designed to easily erase large marks without breaking the paper. But this eraser is not very effective and accurate in erasing handwriting.
Another type of eraser commonly used by artists is called a soft eraser. It is mainly made of a grey material that is rubbery with gum. Its strength keeps it from leaving residue, so it lasts longer than other erasers. It removes handwriting by "absorbing" the graphite. Not only can this eraser erase handwriting (in fact, it can remove handwriting accurately), it can also be used to highlight important parts or make a work more detailed. However, it is not good at removing large areas of handwriting and can smudge or even stick to paper if overheated.
